Playoff Overtime Rules

Non-series deciding game(s):
5 minutes overtime followed by shootout
5 shooters per side, then new shooters if still tied
1) Game #1 of Best-of-3
– any game whereby neither team can win the series
2) Games #1, #2 or potentially #3 of Best-of-5
– any game whereby neither team can win the series

Series deciding game(s):
10 minutes Sudden Victory with no flood,
then flood and 20 minutes Sudden Victory periods
– Hockey Canada Official Overtime Rule #83 *
1) Games #2 and #3 of Best-of-3
– any game whereby a team can win the series
2) Potentially Game #3 and Games #4, #5 of Best-of-5
– any game whereby a team can win the series

* If either team declines to play in the necessary overtime period or periods, the game shall be declared a loss for that team.
